Poland

Poland, and its capital Warsaw, lie at the centre of a continent, and for centuries the country has been a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe. Poland is bordered by seven nations, including Germany, Russia and the Czech Republic, as well as the Baltic Sea.

One of the healthiest economies to emerge from the post-Communist countries, Poland has a diverse economy - with a mix of service and manufacturing industries, and a strong agricultural sector. It has the second highest GDP in Central Europe, after the Czech Republic. In recent years, Poland has developed into a modern, vibrant and progressive state, yet at the same time it maintains its traditional culture.

Poland is the 6th most populated member state of the European Union, and is home to almost 40 million people. The country is a member of the EU, NATO, the UN, OECD and the WTO.
