Azerbaijan

The Republic of Azerbaijan is situated at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west and Iran to the south.

With a population of around 10 million people, Azerbaijan has a high rate of economic development and literacy, as well as a low rate of unemployment. The capital, Baku, is a highly developed modern city.

Rich in oil and natural gas, Azerbaijan also has the largest agricultural basin in the region, with farmlands covering more than half of the country.
