Qatar

The State of Qatar is an oil-rich peninsula in the Arabian Gulf and is one of the six Gulf Cooperation Council States. With substantial oil and natural gas reserves, Qatar is one of the wealthiest states in the world, with the highest GDP per capita, and it has developed high quality healthcare and education systems in line with its rapidly growing economy.

The capital city of Doha lies on the east coast of the peninsula and is home to the majority of the population of more than two million people, with a well-integrated mix of nationals and expatriates.

Qatar has invested significantly in diversification and infrastructure, and in recent years has played host to a number of key regional and global sporting events. In 2022, the country will host the FIFA World Cup.
